AI write limit: a daily cap on what AI writes to your ATS

What the AI write limit does, who it applies to and when to switch it off.

Written by Wijnand Karsens

Through Hyre, your AI assistant can create and update candidates and contacts in your ATS or CRM. The AI write limit makes sure an assistant that goes wrong cannot quietly change hundreds of records. It is on by default.

Before you start

  • You are an Owner or Manager. An Employee can only view the page.

How it works

  • With the limit on, every colleague with the Employee role makes at most 50 writes per day to your ATS or CRM through an AI assistant connected to Hyre. Merging two contacts also counts as one write.

  • The counter resets every day at midnight (Amsterdam time).

  • Owners and managers have no limit.

  • Reading from your ATS does not count. Tasks and calendar events do not count either.

  • On the 51st write, Hyre refuses that one action. Your assistant then says an owner or manager can do it, or switch the limit off.

Switch the limit on or off

  1. Go to Settings › AI write limit.

  2. Switch Limit AI writes to the ATS/CRM on or off.

When to switch it off?

Leave it on at the start. Consider switching it off when: - a recruiter needs to update many records at once, for example an import from Excel or a large ATS- & CRM-sync after a busy week, and - you trust how your AI assistant writes.

Switch it back on afterwards. An owner or manager can also run such a big job themselves, without switching the limit off.

Good to know

  • In Claude you also set, per tool, whether the assistant asks for your approval first. We recommend leaving write tools on Needs approval at the start. See Connect Hyre to Claude.

  • Hyre never writes to your ATS on its own. Only when you or your assistant ask for it.
