With this checklist your account is set up properly in one morning. The more complete your setup, the better everything works afterwards: your summaries, your drafts, your campaigns.
Work from top to bottom. Has an admin not yet set up your organisation (ATS connected, colleagues invited)? Ask your admin to go through the Checklist for admins first.
1. Connect your channels
Account created with the email address you use every day. See Create your account and complete onboarding.
Email and calendar connected (Google or Microsoft). Without a calendar the notetaker does not come to your meetings. See Connect email and calendar.
Phone number verified and the Hyre notetaker number saved in your phone. See Connect your phone number.
LinkedIn connected through the Chrome extension. Have Recruiter or Sales Navigator? Connect it separately. See Connect LinkedIn.
Optional: WhatsApp and a Plaud or Hey Pocket. See Connect WhatsApp and Connect a Plaud or Hey Pocket.
Check everything at a glance under Settings › Channels.
2. Connect your AI assistant
Your own Claude account, at least Pro. Never share an account with colleagues: one Claude account belongs to one Hyre account.
The Hyre connector added in Claude. The link is under Settings › MCP.
Permissions set: read tools on Always allow, write tools on Needs approval for now.
Tested with the question: "Who am I on Hyre?"
3. Finish your profile
Name, discipline and AI assistant checked under Settings › Profile. See Your profile and AI assistant.
Signature set and saved. Without one, your emails leave Hyre without a signature. See Set up your email signature.
Notetaker given a name and logo, and Join my meetings automatically on. See Notetaker settings.
Tone of voice read through under Settings › Tone of voice. Remove anything private or in the wrong language. Whatever is wrong here comes back in your drafts and campaigns. See Set up your tone of voice.
4. Your first conversations
Record your first conversation: an online meeting (the notetaker joins by itself), a phone call through Call, or an in-person conversation through Record.
Open it in Conversations, choose whether it is a candidate or a contact, and let the AI write it up with an action. See Write a conversation to your ATS.
Check your ATS to see that it landed correctly. In the beginning, read everything. Once you trust it, spot-check.
5. Then, in the first weeks
Weeks 1-2: record everything and write it up straight away. Use the Inbox for email and LinkedIn.
Weeks 2-3: your first LinkedIn campaigns. See Outreach explained.
Weeks 3-4: routines and power agents, such as the Draft Agent and Start je dag. See Agents, routines and actions.
Start small. In week one you only need 20% of the platform. A CV or matching agent only works well once there is good data in your ATS.
