Create teams and assign colleagues

Use teams to divide your organisation, so a manager sees and manages their own team.

Written by Robin Alcedo Overbosch

Working with several offices, labels or teams? Then you group your colleagues into teams. A manager then sees and manages the colleagues in their own team.

Before you start

  • You are an Owner. Only an owner sees the Teams tab.

  • Working as a single team? Then you do not need teams.

Create a team

  1. Go to Settings › Teams and click Create Team.

  2. Enter a Team Name and, if you like, a Description.

  3. Save. The team shows in the list.

Add colleagues to a team

  1. Click the three dots next to the team › Assign Members.

  2. Tick the colleagues who belong in this team.

  3. Click Save Assignments.

You can also put new colleagues in a team straight away when you invite them, with Add to Team (optional). See Add a colleague.

Edit or delete

  • Rename: three dots › Edit Team.

  • Delete a team: three dots › Delete. Its members stay in your organisation, they are just no longer in this team.

Good to know

  • A team grants no rights. What someone can do depends on their role. The team only decides which colleagues a manager sees under Team Members. See Roles and permissions.

  • A manager can invite colleagues into their own teams, and take someone out of their team with Remove from Team.

  • Someone can be in more than one team.

  • Conversations stay personal, also within a team. Want to share a conversation with a teammate? Use the share button in Conversations.
