The Matching Agent searches your own ATS for the candidates who best fit a job and explains for each one why they do or don't. Then it can prepare messages for you.
Before you start
Your ATS is connected and the job is in it.
Your AI assistant is connected to Hyre. See Connect Hyre to Claude.
Step by step
Start the agent from one of these places:
on a job: click Matching Agent at the top right of the job, or the button in its row under Jobs
on the Agents page: the Matching Agent card under Power agents > Run agent, then pick the job
Your AI assistant opens with the job already filled in. Send the prompt.
The agent reads the job and searches your ATS: standard fields, custom fields, notes, emails and conversations. Large databases (tens of thousands of candidates) are fast too.
You get the best matches, with what fits for each candidate (for example experience and availability) and what's missing.
Next step, for example: "Draft an email for these candidates, and a LinkedIn message if there's no email address." The drafts appear in Hyre in your own tone of voice. Review and send.
Good to know
The Matching Agent searches your ATS, the Sourcing Agent searches LinkedIn. Few good matches? Let the Sourcing Agent search next.
The fuller your ATS, the better the match. Job title, skills, language and notes make the difference. That's why logging your conversations well pays off.
Odd or few results? Ask the agent "what are you searching on?". Some ATSs only allow searching by name or email through their connection; the agent then reads the most recently changed candidates. Only getting candidates you own? Ask it to search the whole database.
Keep asking: "search further in the database", "give me a new top 10 who aren't in my pipeline yet".
The agent never sends anything itself. You decide who to contact.
