Add Hyre to Claude Team or Enterprise

On Claude Team and Enterprise the Owner adds Hyre once for the whole organization. Then everyone connects their own account.

Written by Wijnand Karsens

On a Claude Team or Enterprise plan, only the Owner of your Claude organization can add a connector. They add Hyre once, and then each employee connects their own Hyre account in a minute.

Before you start

  • Step 1 is done by someone with the Owner or Primary Owner role in Claude. A Claude Admin can't add a connector.

  • Not the Owner yourself? Send them the guide: in Hyre under Settings › MCP, the Claude steps include the link Send this guide to your Claude Owner. That page is public, in Dutch and English, and can be saved as a PDF.

  • You don't need a client ID or secret from Hyre.

Step 1: add Hyre to your organization (Owner, once)

  1. In Claude, open Organization settings › Connectors (claude.ai/admin-settings/connectors).

  2. Click Add. Hover over Custom and choose Web.

  3. If Claude asks for a name, type Hyre.

  4. Paste the Hyre server URL: https://mcp.hyre.io/mcp.

  5. Leave Advanced settings empty. Don't enter an OAuth Client ID or Client Secret.

  6. Click Add. Hyre now shows in the connector list of every member of your organization.

Tip: in Hyre under Settings › MCP, below Add to Claude, there is a link that opens this window for the Owner already filled in.

Permissions for the whole organization (Owner, optional)

Claude asks a member for approval before it uses a Hyre tool, unless the tool is on Always allow. The Owner's setting applies to everyone, and a member can't choose more than the Owner allows. 1. In Claude, open Customize › Connectors and select Hyre. 2. Find Tool permissions. Claude groups the tools by type. 3. Set the read-only tools to Always allow. They only read, for example "Email", "Meetings", "Phone calls" and "Outreach previews". 4. Keep the write/delete tools on Needs approval. They change data, for example "ATS (write)", "CRM (write)", "Calendar (write)" and "Outreach campaigns and lists".

Does your organization use Cowork? There is one more setting: Organization settings › Cowork › Permissions › Allow 'Always allow' for connector tools. It's off by default. While it's off, a member approves the tools that change data again in every Cowork task.

Step 2: connect your own account (each employee, once)

  1. In Claude, open Customize › Connectors.

  2. Find Hyre in the list. It may have a Custom label.

  3. Click Connect and sign in to Hyre the way you always do. Click Allow.

  4. In a chat, open + › Connectors and check that Hyre is on.

  5. Test with "Who am I on Hyre?"

Hyre then works in Claude on the web, in the desktop app, in Cowork and in the mobile apps.

Good to know

  • Everyone only sees their own Hyre data. Claude shows the connector to every member, but each employee signs in to Hyre separately and only gets what their own Hyre account and role allow.

  • Firewall? Claude connects from Anthropic's cloud, not from the employee's computer. You don't need to change your firewall.

  • The server URL holds no secret. Everyone in your Claude organization may see it.

  • Removing Hyre for everyone: Owner, Organization settings › Connectors, remove Hyre. An employee disconnects their own account under Customize › Connectors.

  • Claude team invite stuck on pending? The Owner resends it from the member list in Claude.

Problems

  • Hyre isn't in my connector list. The Owner hasn't done step 1 yet. Send them the guide.

  • You only see "Browse connectors" and no "Add custom connector". You are not the Owner. The Owner has to add Hyre.

  • Claude says it couldn't connect when you click Connect. Ask the Owner to compare the URL in Claude with https://mcp.hyre.io/mcp, including /mcp at the end. If they match, send us a message through Helpdesk.

  • A Hyre tool shows a lock and you can't choose Always allow. The Owner controls that tool's permission. Send them the guide; they follow "Permissions for the whole organization" above.
