Build your own agent

Build your own agent or action with Create Agent in your AI assistant, or with the form. Test first, then share with your team.

Do the same job every week, such as filling in a job spec after a client meeting or writing a proposal email to a hiring manager? Turn it into your own agent or action. After that, one click does the work.

Before you start

  • Your AI assistant is connected to Hyre. See Connect Hyre to Claude.

  • Test by hand first. Do the job once in your AI assistant with a normal question. Is the result right? Then you know what the agent should do.

  • Only want an existing agent to work slightly differently? You don't need a new agent: use Custom rules.

With Create Agent (recommended)

  1. Go to Agents and click Create Agent at the top right.

  2. Your AI assistant opens. Send the prompt.

  3. Explain what the agent should do, for whom and where it should show. Describe your way of working step by step and give an example of a good result.

  4. The assistant writes the instructions and lets you read them. Adjust until they're right.

  5. Only once you agree does it save the agent in Hyre. You get a link to the Agents page.

With the form

  1. On Agents, click Create manually.

  2. Pick the Type:

    • Power agent: a card under Power agents that you start yourself

    • Action: shows in the Agents menu of conversations. Choose Show on email and LinkedIn and/or Show on meetings and calls. An action works on a candidate or contact.

    • Routine agent: runs at a fixed time Power agent and Action can both be on.

  3. Fill in: title, description, the procedure, checklist, what it works on, recommended moment, expected run time, cooldown and language.

  4. Choose Visible to: only me or my organization.

  5. Save.

Share with your team

  • An agent you build is yours only at first (Personal).

  • Works well? Choose Share with organisation in the card's ⋯ menu and confirm. Everyone in your organization then sees it.

  • After sharing, only a manager (or owner or admin) can still change it, delete it or stop sharing it.

  • Colleagues can copy a shared agent with Duplicate and make their own version.

Good to know

  • Mixed results? Make the steps more concrete and add an example. Or give feedback.

  • Start small: one clear task works better than an agent that does everything.

  • The procedure can be up to 80,000 characters.

  • A change is live within 5 minutes.

  • Edit or delete your own agent through the ⋯ menu: Edit, Duplicate, Delete. Hide default actions you don't use with Hide for me.
