Sourcing Agent (beta)

Let the Sourcing Agent find and score candidates on LinkedIn, and turn them into a list for your campaign.

Written by Robin Alcedo Overbosch

The Sourcing Agent searches LinkedIn for candidates for a job, scores every profile against your requirements and turns the result into a list. The agent is in Beta: it works, and we keep improving it.

Before you start

  • Sourcing is switched on for your organization. Hyre turns it on per organization. Don't see the Sourcing Agent under Power agents? Ask us through Helpdesk at the bottom left in Hyre. Signing out and in won't help.

  • Ideally a LinkedIn Recruiter, Recruiter Lite or Sales Navigator seat, connected under Settings › Channels. Without a seat the agent searches Hyre's profile database.

  • Your AI assistant is connected to Hyre. See Connect Hyre to Claude. In Claude, preferably pick a strong model (Opus).

Step by step

  1. Click Sourcing Agent at the top of a job, under Outreach › Lists, or on its card on the Agents page.

  2. Send the prompt in your AI assistant. Choose candidates or sales leads.

  3. Provide the job: from your ATS (search by title), via a link, or type it in.

  4. The agent asks follow-up questions, for example radius (50 km), years of experience or language. It also asks where to search (which seat).

  5. Search plan: it builds 5 to 10 searches, from narrow to broad, and shows how many profiles it finds.

  6. Criteria: the job is split into must-haves and nice-to-haves. Always check them: you're responsible for how the AI judges.

  7. Smoke test: it scores 50 random profiles. Green = approved, yellow = maybe, red = rejected, with a reason for each profile.

  8. Feedback: reject what was wrongly approved and vice versa, maybes included. Press Enter: it adjusts the criteria. Repeat until it's right.

  9. Good? Let it run on all profiles found. Above 60% is a good match, above 80% an excellent one; below 60% is always rejected.

  10. Choose the output: a Hyre list (for a campaign), a Recruiter project or a CSV.

  11. Continue with the Campaign Agent, in the same chat.

Good to know

  • Up to 1,000 profiles per run. A bigger search is split up, for example by years of experience.

  • Scoring and searching run at Hyre, not on your Claude usage. A run of about 1,000 profiles takes around 10 minutes.

  • Few results? Check your exclusions (for example current clients or first-degree connections). Odd profiles? Sharpen the criteria.

  • Your Recruiter Lite seat is protected: the agent stops well below LinkedIn's daily limit, so you can still work in Recruiter yourself.

  • Claude keeps asking for permission? Set the Hyre tools to Always allow.

  • Stuck, or searching keeps failing? Check that your Recruiter licence is active and that searching works in Recruiter itself. Then start the agent again. Still not working? Let us know via Helpdesk.
