Connect Recruitee to Hyre

Connect Recruitee with an API token, and what to know about contacts, followers, sources and CVs.

Written by Wijnand Karsens

You connect Recruitee with a personal API token. Hyre then writes notes on your candidates and keeps them up to date almost live.

Before you start

  • You are an admin in Recruitee, or you have someone who is.

  • Recruitee has no contacts. If you also want to write client conversations, you need a CRM next to it.

Step by step

  1. In Recruitee, create a personal API token and look up your company ID.

  2. In Hyre, go to Settings › Integrations, find Recruitee and click Connect.

  3. Fill in the details and confirm.

  4. Owner or admin: make Recruitee the ATS write target with ⋯ › Make ATS write target.

  5. In Recruitee, create a long text field Hyre profile on candidates, then click Refresh in Hyre under Settings › Fields. The Contacts tab says Recruitee has no contacts; that is correct.

What Hyre writes to Recruitee

  • One note per conversation on each candidate. If you name a job, it shows under the title.

  • Hyre creates no interview events and mentions nobody.

  • A source Hyre writes is added to the candidate's source tags. Existing tags stay.

  • Contacts get no record in Recruitee. If you have no CRM connected, the agent says this is on purpose.

Good to know

  • The owner becomes the only follower. Recruitee has no owner field. Hyre makes the recruiter who asks the only follower of the candidate. Other followers, admins included, are removed. Keep that in mind if you use followers as a watch list.

  • Updated fast. Changes in Recruitee usually show up in Hyre within a few minutes. With many changes at once, Recruitee itself can delay them by 10 to 15 minutes.

  • Notes from Recruitee come in per candidate. A new note on a candidate that didn't change otherwise can take up to a week to show up in Hyre.

  • Uploading CVs and files to Recruitee from Hyre: for now, upload a CV in Recruitee yourself.

  • Notes land under the recruiter's name when their email address in Recruitee matches their Hyre login.
