Connect a Plaud or Hey Pocket

Connect your recording device for in-person conversations, so recordings show up in Conversations by themselves.

Written by Robin Alcedo Overbosch

Do you have a lot of in-person conversations, at a client or in the office? With a Plaud or Hey Pocket you record them without your phone or laptop. Once connected, the recordings show up in Hyre by themselves, with transcript and summary.

Before you start

  • A Plaud or Hey Pocket device with an account at the vendor.

  • No device? Record in-person conversations with Record in Hyre, on your laptop or phone.

Step by step

  1. Go to Settings › Channels and find the Offline Meetings card.

The Offline Meetings card with the Hey Pocket and Plaud buttons
  2. Pick your device:

    • Plaud: click + Plaud. A Plaud window opens. Sign in and give Hyre access. You see Plaud connected. Recordings sync within 15 minutes.

    • Hey Pocket: click + Hey Pocket. Paste your Pocket API key (starts with pk_) and click Connect. You find this key in your Hey Pocket account.

  3. Record a conversation with your device. Within about 15 minutes it appears under Conversations.

Good to know

  • One device, one person. Recordings arrive for the Hyre user who connected the device. If you share a device with a colleague, all its recordings come to you.

  • You can connect both. A Plaud and a Hey Pocket at the same time works.

  • Plaud recordings arrive as a transcript. The audio itself is not included.

  • Link the recording to the right person in Conversations (candidate or contact), otherwise Hyre cannot write it to your ATS.

  • Disconnecting: on the Offline Meetings card › Disconnect. Recordings already in Hyre stay.

  • Let the other person know you are recording.
