With WhatsApp connected, your WhatsApp chats with candidates and clients are in the Inbox, next to your email and LinkedIn. You read and answer them from Hyre.
Before you start
Your phone with WhatsApp at hand. We recommend WhatsApp Business on your work number. A regular WhatsApp account works too.
Connecting WhatsApp is optional. Not using WhatsApp for work? Skip it.
Step by step
Go to Settings › Channels and scroll to the WhatsApp card.
Click Connect WhatsApp. A QR code appears.
Open WhatsApp on your phone and go to Settings › Linked devices.
Tap Link a device and scan the QR code on your screen.
You see WhatsApp connected. Your chats are imported shortly.
Scanning not working? Click Link with phone number instead, enter your number with country code, and type the code Hyre shows into WhatsApp on your phone.
What works and what does not?
Works | Does not work |
Reading and answering existing WhatsApp chats in the Inbox. | Starting a new chat with a number you have never chatted with. |
Sending photos, documents and voice notes (max 15 MB per file, 10 files per message). | Recording WhatsApp calls. |
Summarising a WhatsApp chat or writing it to your ATS or CRM with an action. | Logging messages to your ATS automatically without you asking. |
Good to know
Why no new chats? WhatsApp blocks accounts that quickly message unknown numbers. After that you have to reconnect. That is why Hyre only sends in chats that already exist.
Recording a WhatsApp call is not possible. Still want to capture it? Put your phone on speaker and use Record, or record a memo afterwards.
Disconnecting: three dots on the WhatsApp card › Disconnect. The linked device disappears from WhatsApp too.
Connection dropped? Reconnect with Connect WhatsApp. Your chats come back.
WhatsApp in Hyre is still in beta. Run into something? Let us know through Helpdesk.
