The Hyre AI Connector Chrome extension

What the Hyre AI Connector does, how to install it and connect LinkedIn (and Sales Navigator or Recruiter), without sharing your password.

The Hyre AI Connector is the Chrome extension that connects LinkedIn to Hyre. It reads your signed-in LinkedIn session in your browser and passes it to Hyre. That lets Hyre show your LinkedIn messages, send messages and run campaigns on your behalf, without you sharing your LinkedIn password or verification code.

Before you start

  • You use Google Chrome on a computer.

  • You are signed in to LinkedIn and to Hyre in the same browser.

Installing the extension

  1. In Hyre, go to Settings › Channels and scroll to Apps & Extensions.

  2. Click Add to Chrome at Chrome Extension. The Chrome Web Store opens.

  3. In the Web Store, click Add to Chrome and confirm.

  4. Click the puzzle piece at the top right of Chrome and pin the Hyre AI Connector, so it is always at hand.

  5. Refresh the Hyre page. A new extension only works on pages loaded after it was installed.

Connecting LinkedIn

  1. Go to Settings › Channels and click Connect LinkedIn at LinkedIn.

  2. Click Open extension (if it says Install extension, install it first).

  3. In the extension, click Connect LinkedIn.

  4. Wait a moment. Hyre notices LinkedIn is connected and the page updates itself.

  5. Hyre then starts fetching your messages. At LinkedIn you see Syncing conversations, and later Synced.

Connecting Sales Navigator or Recruiter

Have a Sales Navigator or Recruiter licence (Recruiter Lite included)? Connect it separately to import lists from those searches and see your Recruiter messages and InMails. 1. In the same browser, open a tab with Sales Navigator or LinkedIn Recruiter, so you are signed in there. 2. In Hyre, go to Settings › Channels, card Sales Navigator / Recruiter, and connect through the extension (Connect Premium LinkedIn). 3. The card then shows a label per licence: Sales Navigator or Recruiter (with Lite for Recruiter Lite).

Good to know

  • Hyre never stores your LinkedIn password, and the extension itself stores nothing.

  • If you sign out of LinkedIn in your browser, the connection to Hyre drops. Your LinkedIn conversations then disappear from your inbox for a while. Reconnecting with Reconnect in the extension or under Settings › Channels brings them back.

  • Do not disconnect LinkedIn while the first import runs. The import stops and you miss older messages.

  • Do not use a second LinkedIn automation tool next to Hyre. It causes problems with your account.

  • Extension not working? Check that you are signed in to LinkedIn and Hyre in the same browser, that the extension is on and pinned, and refresh the page. If an error shows after connecting, read the reason in the extension (for example, no Recruiter licence on the account).

  • "Syncing" for a long time? The first import of your LinkedIn history can take days. The last 30 days arrive within minutes.
