Pause a campaign, manage members and withdraw invites

Stop or resume a campaign, take one person out of the sequence or put them back, and withdraw open connection requests.

Written by Robin Alcedo Overbosch

You can always adjust a running campaign: pause the whole campaign, stop one person, or withdraw open requests.

Before you start

  • You can only manage your own campaigns.

Campaign status

In Outreach › Campaigns you filter with Status:

Status

Meaning

Playing

The campaign is running.

Queued

The campaign is waiting for a slot. You can run 5 campaigns at a time.

Paused

The campaign ran and was stopped. It only runs again when you resume it.

Draft

The campaign never launched.

Finished

Everyone has gone through the sequence.

Archived

Archived. No longer counts.

Pause or resume a whole campaign

  1. Click ⋯ next to the campaign and choose Pause. Tasks that hadn't run yet are cleared. What was already sent stays sent.

  2. Resume from the same menu: Launch then reads Resume.

What happens when you resume? - The campaign does not start over. It continues per person with the next step that was still open. Nobody gets a request or message twice. - It can take a while before anything happens again. Pausing empties the queue, and resuming rebuilds it within your daily limits and working window. - Edited prompts apply right away. With AI prompts, Hyre writes each message at the moment it is sent, using the prompt that is in the campaign at that moment. People who are halfway through the sequence also get your new version. Anything already sent stays as it was. - Always click Save after a change. There is no autosave. Preview for a sample lead shows what the new text looks like.

Other options in the ⋯ menu: Edit, Manage members, Scheduled tasks (what is lined up today), Withdrawn, Create a copy, Withdraw pending invites, Archive, Unarchive and Delete. Unarchive brings a campaign back as Paused (or Draft if it never ran); it sends nothing until you resume it.

Manage one person (Manage members)

  1. Choose Manage members in the ⋯ menu, or click a card in the campaign's funnel (such as Accepted or Answered).

  2. Find the person, or filter by step and by state: Active, To review, Paused or Removed. You can switch between a List and a Kanban view.

Manage members with the states of a lead
  3. Pick an action (per person via ⋯, or for several people via Bulk edit):

    • Pause sequence: the person stops and moves to the end column with the label Paused. No new steps. It is not a block: you can always put them back.

    • Move back to sequence: puts a paused person back on the step they were on. The sequence carries on; it does not start over.

    • Include again: for someone with the state Removed. The sequence starts again at the first step, so a new connection request may go out.

    • Move to another column: move someone to another step by hand.

    • Delete from campaign: takes the person out of this campaign. That is final for this campaign, but you can add them to another campaign later.

The three states for someone who isn't running

  • To review: the sequence put them in the end column, usually because they replied.

  • Paused: you or a teammate paused them.

  • Removed: they are no longer on this campaign's board. For example because they were deleted, or because they now run in another campaign.

In a LinkedIn conversation in the Inbox you can also see, through Campaigns, which campaign someone is in and how they stand.

Withdraw open connection requests

  1. Click Pending invites at the top right of Outreach.

Pending invites with Withdraw on each row
  2. Choose:

    • Withdraw on a row: withdraws that one request right away.

    • Withdraw selected or Withdraw all: Hyre schedules the withdrawals and withdraws about one every 20 seconds, after the actions already lined up. Rows disappear as the queue runs.

  3. You can also do it per campaign: ⋯ › Withdraw pending invites.

Want this done automatically? Turn on Withdraw the invite if ignored in the campaign. People whose request was withdrawn are under Withdrawn. There, Put everyone back invites everyone again, and Pause everyone stops them all.

Good to know

  • LinkedIn won't let you invite someone again for about three weeks after you withdraw a request.

  • Clean up open requests. Requests still open after 2 to 3 weeks are rarely accepted, and many open requests are a bad signal to LinkedIn.

  • Pending invites is not a live view. Someone who just accepted may still show for a while.

  • A bulk action works on at most 500 people per click.
