What happens when someone accepts or replies?

What Hyre does when a connection request is accepted, when someone replies, and when someone doesn't. Short answer: a reply stops the sequence.

Short answer: when someone accepts your connection request, the sequence carries on with your messages. When someone replies, the sequence stops for that person and you take over the conversation.

Someone accepts your connection request

  1. The person moves to the Accepted step of your campaign.

  2. The first message goes out after the delay you set on that message, counted from the moment they accepted. Each next message counts from the message before.

  3. Messages only go out within your working window (Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 18:00 by default) and within your daily limit. If someone accepts on a Saturday, the message goes out on Monday at the earliest.

Already a connection? Then Hyre sends no request and the person goes straight to the messages. Don't want to approach existing connections at all? Switch on Existing connections under Targeting. It is off by default.

Someone replies

  1. Hyre sees the reply as soon as a LinkedIn message from that person comes in after they joined the campaign. That can be an answer to your message, but also a reply to your connection request before your first message went out.

  2. The sequence stops for that person. No more messages go to them from this campaign. If a message was already queued, it is skipped. The actions list then shows: "A message was already exchanged with this person, so this one was not sent."

  3. The person moves to the campaign's end column, To review by default, and counts under Answered in your stats.

  4. The reply is in your Inbox. Filter by campaign there to see all replies together. With the Draft Agent on, a draft reply is waiting for you. You read it and send it.

What do you do next?

  • Interested? Reply, add the person to your ATS and create a follow-up task if needed.

  • Not interested now, but a good profile? Add them from the Inbox with Campaigns (top right in the conversation) to your reactivation campaign. Hyre gets back in touch on its own after a few months.

  • Do nothing? The person stays in To review. Nothing more goes out from this campaign.

Someone doesn't respond

  • To the connection request: with Withdraw the invite if ignored on, Hyre withdraws the request after the number of days you set (5 to 90 days). The person moves to Withdrawn. LinkedIn then won't let you invite the same person again for about three weeks. With Send an InMail if ignored on (with Sales Navigator or Recruiter), an InMail goes out after that number of days. With neither on, the request stays open.

  • To your messages: the sequence runs until the last message. A rule such as "stop after 3 messages without a reply" doesn't exist. Want less follow-up? Put fewer messages in the sequence.

Exceptions

  • Hyre can't see InMail replies. They land in your Sales Navigator or Recruiter inbox. The person stays in the sequence until you pause or remove them.

  • A reply only stops this campaign. If the same person later enters another campaign, that one starts as normal. To prevent that, turn on People I've talked to in the new campaign, or use Only people with no message since. See Exclusions.

  • You message them yourself first? If the person replies after that, the sequence stops as well. If they don't reply to your message, the sequence carries on. To be sure, pause the person yourself in Manage members.

  • The campaign doesn't see phone calls, emails or meetings. Pause the person yourself, or ask your admin to turn on Keep candidates who are in a process out of LinkedIn campaigns. Hyre then takes candidates in an ATS process out of every campaign automatically.
