Outreach explained: lists, campaigns and stats

How LinkedIn outreach works in Hyre. First a list, then a campaign, and Stats shows what it brings in.

Written by Robin Alcedo Overbosch

Outreach lets you reach candidates or prospects on LinkedIn with a sequence of messages that Hyre sends for you, within safe limits. When someone replies, you take over the conversation.

Before you start

  • Your LinkedIn account is connected under Settings › Channels (through the Chrome extension).

  • You have filled in your Recruiting discipline under Settings › Profile. Until you do, Outreach only shows the question Tell us what kind of recruiting you do.

  • Want to import from Sales Navigator or Recruiter, or send InMails? Also connect your seat on the Sales Navigator / Recruiter card.

How Outreach is built

You find Outreach in the sidebar under Workspace › Outreach. At the top there are three sections: Campaigns, Lists and Stats.

The Outreach screen with Campaigns, Lists and Stats

  1. Lists: who do you reach? A list is a group of LinkedIn profiles. You build it with the Sourcing Agent, or through Import manually from a LinkedIn search, Sales Navigator, Recruiter, a CSV file and more. See Build a list.

  2. Campaigns: what do you send? A campaign links a list to a sequence of steps: optional warmup (visit the profile, follow, like the latest post), a connection request and then up to 7 messages. You create it with the Campaign Agent or with Create manually. See Create a campaign.

  3. Stats: what does it bring in? Acceptance, messages and replies per period and per campaign. See Read your stats.

Top right there are three more buttons: - The daily counter (for example "25 left today"): how many profiles you can still import today. - Pending invites: your open connection requests, which you can withdraw here. - Settings: your working window (days and hours) and your daily limits. These apply to your whole LinkedIn account, not per campaign. See LinkedIn limits and safe use.

Three kinds of campaigns

  • Existing network: people who are already a connection. No connection request needed, so it is fast.

  • New: second and third degree contacts. First a connection request, then the messages after they accept.

  • Reactivation: people who said "not now" earlier. You add them from your Inbox to a campaign that gets back in touch after 3, 6 or 12 months.

Our advice: run 2 or 3 at a time, for example 2 outreach campaigns and 1 reactivation campaign.

Good to know

  • When someone replies, the sequence stops for that person and the reply lands in your Inbox. Read What happens when someone accepts or replies?.

  • Your daily limits are shared by all your campaigns. More campaigns means fewer requests per campaign.

  • At most 5 campaigns run at the same time. A sixth waits in the queue (Queued) until a slot frees up.

  • A connection request with a note (max. 300 characters) needs a paid LinkedIn plan (Premium, Sales Navigator or Recruiter).

  • Don't use a second LinkedIn tool next to Hyre on the same account. It doubles the activity LinkedIn sees and raises the risk of a restriction.
