Want to follow up with someone later? Create a task. You can do it from your task list, from a conversation, or by asking your AI assistant.
From a conversation (recommended)
A task you create from a conversation remembers where it came from. Later, View conversation opens that conversation straight away. 1. Open the conversation in Conversations or the Inbox. 2. Click the three-dot menu (⋯) and choose Create Task. Or press t. 3. The person is already filled in. Add a title and a due date, for example in 3 days. 4. Save. The task is in Tasks, under Later until its date arrives.
In a conversation in Conversations you also see Open tasks above the Profile panel: every open task for this person. New task adds one there, and the check mark completes one.
By hand
Go to Tasks and click Create manually at the top right (or press
t).Enter a title, and optionally pick the person and a due date.
Save.
Through your AI assistant
Just ask Claude, for example: - "Add a task to call [name] next week." - "Create a follow-up task for my last conversation, in two days."
Or tick the follow-up task action in a conversation's Agents menu. Your assistant has more context: for example, it sees that a task for this person was just created and skips it.
Good to know
Sending a meeting proposal? Create a task "follow up in 2 days" right away. Hyre doesn't follow up emails automatically after a number of days.
The due date is set to 09:00 local time.
If you change the pre-filled person while creating the task, the link to the conversation is dropped.
A task created from an email thread is completed automatically when that thread gets a reply.
Tasks aren't created in your ATS. Want that? You can do it with your own action. See Build your own agent.
